Bearsden is one of the most consistently tree-lined suburbs we work in, with mature trees along streets and in large private gardens in the older parts of town, so a lot of our pruning here is crown reduction and thinning on sizeable specimens.

Baljaffray and Castlehill's newer housing has smaller, more recently planted gardens that are usually a lighter, formative job.

There should always be a reason behind a prune — better light, reduced risk, a specific shape — rather than trimming a tree simply for being large. We factor in safety, nearby rooflines and roads, and the tree's condition before recommending crown reduction or a lighter prune.
